City Lit Opera School

Colin Baldy (Artistic Director) & Peter Crockford (Music Director)

City Lit Opera School is for experienced classical singers interested in higher study and professional development. This course provides training in all aspects of operatic performance, with staged public performances at the end of each term. In addition, we aim to put on fully staged works at the end of each academic year. These have included Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, Vaughan Williams’ Riders to the Sea and Purcell’s Fairy Queen.

If you are a singer or a pianist/accompanist wishing to learn or improve your skills and thinking of entering the profession or a conservatoire, this course could be for you. Since it is part-time it is perfectly possible to take the course while working full- or part-time as long as you are available for the regular course times (Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings) and the end-of-term performances (see Study Details).
